Privacy, Terms & Support

FieldNorth is developed and operated by FieldNorth LLC.

In short: FieldNorth provides location awareness on iPhone and Apple Watch. It is not an emergency service or a replacement for professional judgment, navigation, dispatch, communications, or safety equipment. We do not sell your location data.

Privacy Policy

This policy covers FieldNorth’s iPhone app, Apple Watch app, widgets, and Watch complications.

Information FieldNorth uses

Precise location. With permission, FieldNorth uses GPS and device location services to display position, street address, direction of travel, cross streets, maps, breadcrumbs, widgets, and complications.
Account information. Email address and authentication information are processed through Firebase Authentication when you create an account.
Purchase status. Apple processes subscriptions; FieldNorth does not receive payment-card details.
App preferences. Appearance and display preferences are stored on your device.

How location information is used

Location operates FieldNorth’s core features: address lookup, direction of travel, maps, breadcrumb paths, and updates to paired Apple Watch devices, widgets, and complications. Breadcrumb routes are saved locally on the iPhone and Apple Watch, can remain after the app closes, and can be cleared in the app. The oldest points may be removed as the trail reaches its storage limit. FieldNorth does not operate a location-history service or sell location information.

When information is shared

Apple services may process maps, reverse geocoding, address, and cross-street requests. Apple processes App Store subscriptions.
Firebase Authentication processes account sign-up, sign-in, and password-reset requests.
Your paired devices may exchange current location and settings through Apple Watch connectivity.

Offline milemarker data

FieldNorth includes separate Oregon milepost datasets from the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) and OpenStreetMap. The app compares your device location with bundled data locally and stores a nearby-area cache on your device. It does not send your location to either provider to look up a milepost. A nearby mapped marker is not your exact milepoint or proof that you are on that road; data may be incomplete or outdated. See Data & Credits for sources and reuse terms.

Your choices and controls

Location permission can be allowed, limited, or revoked in device Settings.
Breadcrumbs can be cleared in FieldNorth.
Display preferences can be changed in FieldNorth Settings.
You can sign out or request a password reset in the app.
Subscriptions can be managed or canceled in Apple Account subscription settings.

Data security and retention

FieldNorth uses protections provided by Apple and its service providers. No storage or transmission is completely secure. Firebase Authentication retains account information until the account is deleted or retention is otherwise required by law. Temporary location and breadcrumb information stays on your device until cleared or replaced in normal use.

Children

FieldNorth is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as FieldNorth changes and will revise the effective date here.

Terms of Use

By downloading or using FieldNorth, you agree to use it responsibly and in accordance with applicable law, agency policy, and Apple’s terms. FieldNorth provides location-awareness features only. It is not an emergency dispatch, rescue, navigation, communications, or life-safety service.

GPS, maps, addresses, headings, cross streets, widgets, complications, and breadcrumb routes may be unavailable, delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Do not rely on FieldNorth as your sole means of navigation, rescue, communication, or emergency response. Use your phone, radio, dispatch system, approved maps, and other equipment as appropriate.

FieldNorth Pro subscriptions are billed through Apple and renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current billing period ends. Any free trial converts to the selected paid plan unless cancelled before it ends.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FieldNorth is provided “as is” and “as available,” without a guarantee it will be uninterrupted, accurate, or suitable for a particular purpose.

For help, first check FieldNorth Settings for location permission, background tracking, account, and subscription guidance. Purchases and refunds are managed through Apple.

For privacy requests, account assistance, or app support, email fieldnorthsupport@gmail.com. Do not send emergency requests through app support; use local emergency services, dispatch, or your established emergency procedure.
